Economy

The key to a thriving economy is jobs.

We need to bring businesses to rural communities so people can have access to local jobs. We need to provide incentives for small businesses to start up. We need to provide assistance so local graduates can use their vocational training to start businesses locally. We need to close the food deserts by bringing in grocery stores where there are none.

Workers need wages, hours, and paid benefits that allow them to afford their living expenses — rent, utilities, food, clothing, transportation, medical care, taxes, insurance, and recreation. Rural communities need the infrastructure necessary to conduct business — broadband and improved roads and bridges.
