LET’S TALK about The Economy.

I know what it’s like to live paycheck to paycheck. I know what it’s like to lose a job during an economic downturn. I know what it’s like to have to rely on SNAP and to have the electricity cut off. So, to me, the economy isn’t about the unemployment rate being low. It isn’t about the stock exchange numbers (NYSE, NASDAQ, DOW) being high. To me, the economy is about what is in my pocketbook.

Too many people in my rural district live paycheck to paycheck. Too many people worry that their pocketbook will be empty the next time their rent is increased. Too many people are refused full-time work and are paid less than a living wage. These limitations on their pocketbook affect their quality of life.

LET’S TALK Quality of Life.

There are three things that are absolutely necessary for life: air, water, and food. Other things necessary in life are clothing, housing, healthcare, and some form of transportation, communication, and recreation.

The 2024 election isn’t just about Biden or Trump. It isn’t just about Democrat or Republican. It isn’t just about democracy or fascism. It is about all of these things, but above all these, it is about our quality of life. Which candidate, which political party is working on our behalf to make sure that we have clean air and water and toxin-free food? Which candidate, which political party is working on our behalf to make sure clothing, housing, healthcare, transportation, communication, and recreation are accessible and affordable? Which candidate, which political party is working on our behalf to make sure we have the freedom to vote for the candidate, for the political party that is working for us?
